We're David and Elina; siblings, co-founders, and the people behind Mahalo.

The honest version of how this started: We've been going to Hawaii multiple times a year for as long as we can remember. Not because we're from there, we're not, but because something about the islands changes how we move through a day. The pace softens. The air does feel different. Wellness in Hawaii isn't a routine you grit through before work; it's just the way mornings happen.

The hard part has always been the plane ride home. The moment you land back on the mainland, that ease starts evaporating. A few days later, you're back to a kitchen counter covered in supplement bottles you can barely keep track of, and a wellness routine that feels like another job.

Mahalo started from a simple question: what if a small piece of that feeling could come with you? And what if radical ingredient simplicity could deliver it?

A note on the name

Mahalo is the Hawaiian word for thank you, and it carries real cultural weight in the islands. We chose it because gratitude is at the heart of how Hawaii has shaped our lives, and because we wanted a daily reminder of that gratitude built into the brand.

We use the word with respect for where it comes from. As Mahalo grows, we're committed to building real partnerships with Hawaiian makers, practitioners, and creators, and to making sure the brand honors the place it draws from rather than just borrowing from it.
